MATERIAL LIFE: THE PAINTING AND SCULPTURE OF MICHAEL FRECHETTE

Dimensions: 8.75 x 11.5″ | softcover | page count: 192

This exhibition catalog was created for a retrospective of the work of Michael Frechette, a Philadelphia painter and sculptor. Michael Frechette originally began his career as a sculptor, but now works primarily as a painter. His paintings can be bold, very textural, strong and more often than not, quite graphic. We wanted the design of this catalog to compliment Michael’s approach to his work, which can be both contemplative and sometimes solemn, abstract and grid-like. Working closely with the text (written and curated by Professor of Sociology, James Dickinson at Rider University) and Michael’s image selections, we strove to create a catalog that shows the diversity of his work, and engage readers with thoughtful essays about his body of work.
